GadgetPreview started years ago as a gadget blog. In 2026 we brought it back with a single obsession: portable power stations.

When the grid goes down, the marketing goes out the window. What matters is how many watt-hours you actually get, how fast it recharges from the sun, and whether it keeps a CPAP running through the night. Those are things you can measure, so we measure them.

What we do

We run portable power stations through real-world tests: full drain-downs with actual appliances, timed wall/car/solar recharges, solar input measurements in real sunlight, UPS switchover timing, and cost-per-usable-watt-hour math. Every number we publish comes with the test behind it.

Honest labeling

While our test lab is being built, some picks are based on manufacturer specifications. We label those clearly, every time. The day we measure a unit ourselves, the label changes and the data goes up.
